Completed in 1928, Los Angeles City Hall stands as a testament to the city's ambition and architectural prowess. Designed by renowned architects John Parkinson, John C. Austin, and Albert C. Martin Sr., the building showcases the Art Deco style, characterized by its geometric forms and ornamental details. At 454 feet tall, it was the tallest building in Los Angeles until 1964.
About five minutes before I took this photo, I didn’t even realize this building was Los Angeles City Hall until my friend pointed it out. Honestly, if I had seen it during the daytime, I think I would have felt the same kind of disappointment as when I saw the "HOLLYWOOD" sign. However, since it was nighttime, the building was lit up with a beautiful blue light, which made it look much less ordinary and actually pretty special. The lighting gave it a calm, almost magical feeling that I probably wouldn’t have noticed in daylight.
